New Delhi Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has made a big statement about taking over the ODI captaincy from Virat Kohli. The chairman of the selection committee has told him before and that is a good thing. Not that Virat Kohli has learned from the media that he has been removed from the ODI captaincy. I think this statement changed when he said that he wants to continue captaining in Tests and ODIs. Legendary cricketer Gavaskar has revealed why Kohli was given the captaincy of the ODI team. He blamed Kohli for this in September this year, when the Indian batsman said he would step down as captain after the T20 World Cup and continue captaining the Test and ODI teams. Gavaskar said Kohli was told before the news broke and what more could you ask for.
Gavaskar said: “I think you also know that Virat Kohli was told about it before it was made public. This is not what he found out through the media. The chairman of the selection committee has told him before and that is a good thing. Not that Virat Kohli has learned from the media that he has been removed from the ODI captaincy.
