Vidya Balan has been cast in a film based on the life of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, actor and filmmaker Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao or NT Rama Rao. Vidya will play the role of his wife Basavatarkam.

NTR’s son Balakrishna will play the role of his father in this film. This film is directed by Krish. The same film is being produced by Balakrishna and Vishnuvardhan Induri. He was a film actor himself. He also produced, directed and edited films. He has won three National Film Awards. He has also received the President’s Award personally.

However, Vidya is very interested in Balan’s biopic. She previously starred in The Dirty Picture, based on the life of the controversial southern actress Silk Smith. He wanted to work on a film on the life of renowned singer MS Subbalakshmi and writer Kamala Das, but could not. However, it has been decided that she will play the role of Indira in a web series on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Vidya and her husband Siddharth Roy Kapoor recently bought the rights to a book by a female journalist on Indira Gandhi. Vidya Balan was also offered a biopic of Meena Kumari and Vidya liked the script. There was a possibility that he would say yes to this film but Vidya did not say this when news came that Meena Kumari’s family was not happy to be a part of Vidya’s film.
