Unhappy with the censor board, Vishal Bharadwaj said that he has become deaf

Panaji. On Saturday, Vishal Bharadwaj said the censor board had gone deaf. It is taking an indifferent attitude towards the concerns of the filmmakers. The writer-director, who has in the past clashed with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), says films are easily targeted for anything that might go wrong in society.
Responding to a question about the possibility of gradual censorship through digital, Bharadwaj said, “Did he listen to us when he ticked off the non-smoking scene on the screen? Do they still listen to us? They (censor board) are deaf. They do whatever they want.” Our country is the only one in the world where smoking is not shown in movies. How much more fun can it be?
Bharadwaj, who was speaking at NDFC’s Film Bazaar Knowledge Series session, said he wanted to launch a project for digital media as soon as possible. He said he was looking for content that could be presented in a web serial format.
