Amit Shah arrives in Calcutta on a two-day visit to Bengal

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to Bengal. Amit Shah reached Kolkata on Thursday morning. Amit Shah BOP will take part in various programs in Hari Daspur, including laying the foundation stone of Maitri Sangrahaliya and Prahari Smilan. This is Amit Shah’s first visit to West Bengal after the BJP’s defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections. After participating in various programs on the first day, the Home Minister will visit Koch Bihar district of West Bengal on Friday and hold talks with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at BOP Jhalkari. The Home Minister will later hold a meeting with West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party MPs, MLAs and state officials at Hotel Weston in Kolkata on Friday at 2 p.m.

Formation of committee for recovery from defaulters The Supreme Court has constituted a committee headed by Justice (retd) Pradeep Nandrajog to recover money from these defaulters against whom the National Spot Exchange Limited has obtained orders. The Supreme Court has approved the formation of the committee using its full powers under Article 142 of the Constitution. NSEL has already received recovery orders of Rs 3,534.46 crore.

Services exports stood at US 25 254 billion. During the financial year 2021-22, the country’s service exports stood at US 25 254.4 billion (approximately Rs. 1.9 trillion). Exports hit a record high of .9 26.9 billion in March, the last month of the fiscal year. Earlier, in the financial year 2019-20, US 21 213.20 billion was exported. Other commercial services, including telecommunications, computers and information services, played a key role in exports.

Google has appointed Niti Ayog’s secretary as head of public policy. Google has appointed Archana Galati, former joint secretary of Niti Ayog, as head of public policy in India. A company spokesman confirmed his appointment. Galati oversaw digital communications policy at a government think tank and took voluntary retirement in April last year. She was the OSD in the Telecom Secretary’s Office from May 2017 to August 2019. Galati has also served on the Competition Commission of India and has advised the Commission on issues related to integration and acquisition.
