These women in the industry are angry with the filmmakers who went to meet Modi

On Tuesday, a delegation from the Hindi film industry met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the steps needed to move the film business forward. Some female Bollywood actors and filmmakers have raised questions about the meeting. These female celebrities have expressed their displeasure over the non-inclusion of any woman in the delegation.
The delegation that went to meet the Prime Minister included Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi, producer Ritesh Sidhwani, Bhushan Kumar, Rony Screwwala, Siddharth Roy Kapoor and others. Akshay tweeted a picture of the meeting and thanked the Prime Minister for meeting him. Akshay writes: “Sincere thanks to the esteemed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the time to meet us, for listening to us in detail and for assuring us of resolving the urgent issue.”

Apart from Akshay, many other celebrities shared pictures of the meeting on social media with the Prime Minister. At the time of sharing this picture, hardly anyone thought that it could be questioned. From actress to producer Dia Mirza praised the meeting and raised questions. Dia writes- ‘Good. Director Alankrita Srivastava, who had a long battle with the censor board over her thought-provoking film Lipstick Under My Burqa, wrote – “It would be nice to have women in such a delegation. It’s going to be 2018.”
