Corbivax vaccine: There is good news on the Corona front today. Today, the country has launched another important facility in the fight against this epidemic. Emergency use of the vaccine for adults is now approved. After that it will be easier to control corona infection. The Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company Biological E’s anti-corona virus vaccine Corbevex has been allowed to be used as a booster dose in emergencies. This is the first vaccine to be approved as a mixed and match booster dose for Corbevax. The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved it for people above 18 years of age. Mahima Datla, Managing Director, Biological E, said, “We are delighted with the decision of DCGI to address the shortage of corona booster food in India. The company said in a statement today that it should be given to people six months after taking the basic two doses of Covaxin, or Covishield, for limited use in emergencies. This makes Corbevax India’s first extraordinary COVID booster.

Understand the meaning of mix and match booster doses.

Before that, Covishield or Covaccine is being given as a precautionary measure. However, if the precautionary dose is the same, then both are basic doses. Mixing and matching booster doses means that people 18 years of age or older who have taken both basic doses of Covishield or Covaxin can now get Corbevax in an emergency. Corbex has also been approved for use in children over five years of age.

Food prices were cut in May.

In late April, DCGI, India’s drug regulator, granted Corbevax Emergency Use (EUA) for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Until then, the vaccine was given to people aged 12-14. Biological E reduced the price of Corbivax from ₹ 840 per dose to ₹ 250 in May, including goods and services tax for private vaccination centers. When India began vaccinating children between the ages of 12 and 14 in March, the Corbivax vaccine was used and cost ₹ 145 for the government’s immunization program. Bey collaborated with Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine to develop Corbevax.
