Mumbai The world’s most prestigious 71st Cannes Film Festival is set to begin on Tuesday. The festival, which runs till May 19, will screen four national award-winning films in the Indian pavilion section.

It will also be part of the Indian pavilion for Nandita Das’s Manto, Enamul Haque’s Nakkash and Taj Mahal.

Apart from films, like every year, many famous stars of Indian films will take part in this festival. Soon after the wedding, Sonam Kapoor will leave for Paris to attend Cannes Festival.

Apart from them, Aishwarya Rai and Deepika Padukone are also set to reach the bride. Kangana and Huma Qureshi will also be the special attraction of this year’s film festival.

This time a delegation from India is also arriving at the Con Festival, which includes many top government officials and film personalities.

The delegation includes Ashok Kumar Parmar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prasoon Joshi, Chairman, Censor Board, Bani Tripathi, Member, Board, film actress Parvati and filmmaker Janu Barua, Bharat Bala.

The National Award winning films included in the Indian pavilion include Rima Das’s Assamese film ‘Village Rock Star’, Jayaraj’s Malayalam film ‘Vayakaram’, Kaushik Ganguly’s Bengali film ‘Nagarkirtan’ and Pampali’s Lakshadweep’s ‘Sinjar’.

Manto’s presence of Nandita Das is considered important from the point of view of Indian cinema.

Apart from director Nandita Das, actor Nawazuddin, who played Manto in the film, and Rasika Duggal, who played Manto’s wife, also reached the bride.

Directed by Kirat Khurana and starring Subrata Dutt, Bidita Bagh, Manoj Pahwa, and American actress Ali Filankar, T for Taj Mahal will premiere.
