It is noteworthy that terrorists are constantly targeting people in Jammu and Kashmir. A Rajput woman was shot dead by suspected terrorists in Gopalpura, Kulgam on Tuesday. The female teacher was taken to hospital for treatment, but she died there. Kashmir Police tweeted that the female teacher’s name is Rajni Bala. She was from Samba and her husband’s name is Rajkumar. This is the second time in May that a Kashmiri Pandit has been killed.

Earlier, on May 12, terrorists shot dead Rahul Bhatt, a Kashmir Pandit employee, at the Tehsildar’s office in Chadoora Tehsil, Budgam District. In Kashmir, seven people have been targeted so far in the month of May. Among them were 4 civilians and 3 policemen who were not on duty.

The Union Home Minister has called a meeting on June 3.
In view of the rising incidence of targeted killings in the Kashmir Valley, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has convened a meeting on June 3 with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and other officials to review the situation in Kashmir. Apart from the Lieutenant Governor, senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Centrally Administered Territories will also attend the meeting. It is to be noted that Amarnath Yatra is also scheduled to start later this month.
