Seventh Pay Commission: Diwali is coming soon for government employees this year. In fact, the Government of India has increased the inflation allowance of employees by 3% under the Seventh Pay Commission. Earlier DA was 28% which is now 31%. After the increase in inflation allowance, the salary of the employees will increase according to their grade. The increase in DA and DR by the central government will benefit 47.14 lakh central employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners. The government’s decision will allow employees and pensioners to take home the annual salary package. The salary increase will be according to the basic salary and grade of the employee. Earlier in July, the Center had decided to increase the inflation allowance to 28%. It has been increased again to 31%. It is being said that according to the increase in DA, the increased salary will be included in the salary before Diwali. According to the 7th Pay Commission, the salary of a Level 1 central employee ranges from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900. For an employee with a salary of Rs 18,000, the annual increase will be Rs 30,240. Basic Salary of Employee – Rs. 18,000

New Inflation Allowance (31%) – Rs. 5580 / month

Till date Inflation Allowance (17%) – Rs. 3060 per month

Increase in DA (5580-3060) – Rs. 2520 / month

Annual increase (2520 * 12) – Rs. 30,240

According to the same calculation, the annual increment of a central government employee with a salary of Rs. 56,900 is Rs.

Basic Salary of Employee – Rs. 56900

New Inflation Allowance (31%) – Rs.17639 per month

Till date Inflation Allowance (17%) – Rs.9673 / month

Increase in DA (17639-9673) – Rs. 7966 / month

Annual increase (7966 * 12) – Rs. 95,592

According to the 31% DA, the total annual inflation allowance on a basic salary of Rs 56,900 will be Rs 2,11,668. According to media reports, the effect of the change in salary and inflation allowance will be seen in the package of central government employees before Diwali.
