Mumbai Ravi Shankar Alok, 32, author of Ram Gopal Varma’s famous film Ab Tak Chappan starring Nana Patekar, committed suicide in Mumbai on Wednesday. Alok committed suicide by jumping from the roof of his house in Andheri.

According to police, Ravi Shankar lived with his elder brother in a seven-bungalow building called Basanta Sansit in Mumbai’s Andheri West area. According to the security guard, he had been suffering from mental stress for several days.

Alok jumped from the roof of the seven-storey building around 2.30 pm. Police have recorded an untimely death. The body was sent to Cooper Hospital for an autopsy.

Ab Tak Chappan, released in 2004, is based on the life of Daya Nayak, a well-known Mumbai police officer. Where Nana Patekar has played her role. It is said that Alok was only 18 years old when he wrote the film.
