Promoting natural agriculture, PM Modi said this to the farmers.
Live PM Modi’s Address to Farmers: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed farmers via video conference during the closing session of the National Summit on Agriculture and Food Processing in Anand, Gujarat. On the occasion, PM Modi called for the promotion of natural agriculture. The PM said that in the last 6-7 years, from seed to market, one step after another has been taken to increase the income of farmers. From soil testing to hundreds of new seeds, from PM Kisan Saman Nidhi to one and a half times the cost of MSP, from a strong irrigation network to Kisan Rail, many steps have been taken. It is true that chemicals and fertilizers have played a significant role in the green revolution, but it is equally true that we must continue to work on alternatives at the same time.
Read the big points of PM Modi’s speech
We have all seen very closely the direction in which agriculture has grown in the country in the decades since independence. Now our journey to the 100th year of independence is to adapt our agriculture to new demands, new challenges.
This is the right time to take big steps before the problems related to agriculture get worse. We need to take our agriculture out of the chemistry lab and into the nature lab. When I talk about the laboratory of nature, it is based entirely on science.
Today, as the world is becoming more modern, it is moving towards ‘back to basic’. What does this back core mean? That means connecting to your roots! Who can understand you better than all the farmer friends? The more water we give to the roots, the more the plant grows.
