Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Assam. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Assam today and addressed a rally for peace, harmony and development in Defoe, Kirby Anglong District. Prime Minister Modi said that today the country is moving ahead with the target of 75,000 Amrit Sarwar. It started a few days ago from Jammu and Kashmir. Amrit Sarwar is also going to be beneficial in fish farming. Problems in the Northeast have been steadily declining since 2014 and people are making progress. In Assam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “You know very well that I, as a member of your own family, have tried to understand your problems.” When we as members of a family all find solutions as a family, there is a sense of sensitivity, a sense of pain and suffering.
Violence in the Northeast has dropped by 75% in the last eight years. That is why AFSPA was removed first from Tripura and then from Meghalaya. Due to the lack of improvement in the situation, the previous governments were pushing it again and again.
