Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has criticized Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for allegations of mismanagement in the supply of PPE kits during COVID-19 epidemics and said he would take legal action against Sisodia. In his explanation, the Chief Minister of Assam said, “At a time when the whole country was facing the worst epidemic in more than 100 years, Assam hardly had any PPE kits. My wife came forward. Dare and donate about 1500 PPE kits for free. The government had to pay the price of saving lives. Not a single penny was taken.

Earlier on Saturday, Sisodia alleged that when he was the state health minister in winter 2020, he had ordered PPE kits from his wife and son’s business partner companies. He said, “Assam CM Hemanta Biswa Sarma had given government orders for PPE kits to his wife and son’s business partner companies in 2020, when he (CM) was the then health minister. This is what the elected Chief Minister did. Involved in corrupt activities, will the BJP put him behind bars now?

Responding to the allegation, Sharma said, “While you, Manish Sisodia, showed a completely different approach at the time, you turned down many of my calls to help the stranded posts in Delhi. I will never forget an example. When I had to wait for 7 days. To bring the body of an Assamese co-victim from Delhi morgue. I will see you in Guwahati soon because you will face criminal contempt.

Rinko Bhuvan Sarma, wife of Haminta Biswa Sarma, also clarified the allegations against Sisodia on Twitter. He wrote, “In the first week of the epidemic, Assam did not have a single PPE kit available. Wrote to NHM to consider it part of their CSR. He said, “I did not take a single penny from the supply. I have always been transparent about my belief in giving back to society, regardless of my husband’s political status.
