John Abraham will not let go of Akshay Kumar’s chase, preparing to clash again next year
Mumbai Akshay Kumar and John Abraham continue to fight at the box office and this time in 2019, John and Akshay are likely to clash again. Akshay Kumar has already announced the release date of his film ‘Keshari’. The movie is coming to the theaters on March 21. Based on the famous battle of Saragarh in the 19th century, Akshay Habildar played the role of Ishwar Singh, a brave Sikh soldier who fought 10,000 Afghan warriors on the Indo-Afghan border with only 21 soldiers. The whole battalion is martyred, but does not allow the enemy to set foot on its soil.
At the same time, John is now bringing his picture ‘RAW’ i.e. Romeo Akbar Walter on March 15 next year. Directed by Ravi Grewal, the film stars Jackie Shroff, Suchitra Krishnamurthy, Sikander Kher and Mauni Roy in the lead roles. This is the first detective film of John’s career. This is a spy film where John is seen in different guises. Has done enough action, but will come to the audience for the first time as a detective.
John has set a release date for Akshay’s film just 7 days ago. In 2018, Akshay and John’s picture Gold and Satyamev Jayate were released together on 15th August. Both films have been successful. Gold has accumulated more than Rs 107 crore, with Satyamev winning about Rs 90 crore. Even during the media talk about the clash, both stars took a positive stance.
However, at the beginning of last year, Akshay Kumar faced a similar challenge. There is going to be a clash between Akshay Kumar’s ‘Pad Man’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavat’. Akshay’s ‘Pad Man’ was supposed to be released on January 25. However, on this date Bansali brought his picture ‘Padmavat’. ‘Padmavat’ was supposed to be released on December 1, 2017, but due to lack of censorship certificate, the release of the film was postponed. Later, due to his relationship with Bhansali, Akshay decided to release ‘Pad Man’ on February 9.
This decision of Akshay proved to be good and the film was a success at the box office. Akshay Kumar’s name is Independence Day. On the occasion of 15th August last year, Akshay’s movie ‘Toilet Ek Prem Kotha’ came out which was released on 11th August. The film has become a super hit with a gross of over Rs 133 crore. On August 15, 2016, Akshay’s film ‘Rustam’ competed with Hrithik Roshan’s film ‘Mohenjo-Daro’, where Akshay won. Both films were released on 12 August.
Where ‘Rustam’ became a super hit by collecting more than 127 crores, ‘Mohenjo-dado’ can collect only 58 crores. On August 14, 2015, Akshay and Siddharth Malhotra’s film ‘Brothers’ came out. The film has grossed around Rs 82 crore on an average. Rais and Kabil: Shah Rukh Khan’s Rais and Hrithik Roshan’s Kabil met on January 25 last year on the occasion of Republic Day. The release of ‘Kabil’ was pre-scheduled when ‘Rais’ was supposed to be released in 2016, but due to delay, Shah Rukh removed it in January 2017. Rakesh Roshan, the producer of ‘Kabil’ also expressed his displeasure over this. However, Rakesh’s anger subsided when both the films did well at the box office. ‘Kabil’ was a super hit with 126.85 crore, while ‘Rice’ had a profit of ₹ 137.50 crore.
The clash between Karan Johar’s Aye Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn’s Shivaya was in the news in Diwali 2016. There were also some negative incidents which caused the relationship between Karan and Ajay’s wife Kajal to deteriorate. This clash at the box office turned into a mutual confrontation. However, the results of the two films at the box office are almost the same. While ‘Aye Dil Hai Mushkil’ collected ₹ 112.50 crore, ‘Shivay’ collected around Rs 100 crore. Rustam and Mohenjodaro In 2016, the second major clash between ‘Rustam’ and ‘Mohenjodaro’ took place. The two Ittefaqan films were supposed to be released on August 12 on the occasion of Independence Day.
Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustam’ won the competition, while Hrithik’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ was a flop. ‘Rustam’ collected around ₹ 128 crores, while ‘Mohenjodaro’ could make ₹ 58 crores. Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale Bajirao Mastani vs. Dilwale In 2015, the clash between ‘Dilwale’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ was very much discussed. Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dilwale’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ hit theaters on December 18. Although both films were successful at the box office.
‘Bajirao Mastani’ got ₹ 184 crore, and ‘Dilwale’ got ₹ 148 crore. Bang Bang and Haider Bang Bang vs Haider In 2014, Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Bang Bang’ and Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Haider’ came together on 2nd October. The Hollywood remake of the Hollywood film ‘Night and Day’ ‘Bang Bang’ was an action thriller film, ‘Haider’ was a drama film made in Kashmir. Although ‘Haider’ was liked by the critics, ‘Bang Bang’ remained the favorite movie of the viewers. ‘Bang Bang’ was hit by collecting ₹ 181 crore, whereas ‘Haider’ could collect only ₹ 58 crore.
