In another incident related to the same clash, two army men were martyred while two other soldiers were reported injured. According to officials, a vehicle carrying soldiers from 44 RR Chougam camp to the scene of the encounter crashed in Budigam. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and skidded off the road. Four youths were injured in the accident and were rushed to Shopian District Hospital. But two of them died. The other two injured soldiers have been shifted to 92 Base Army Hospital, Srinagar.
