IPL 2022: IPL franchise names former Indian World Cup winner as advisor

New Delhi – The man who himself has won two IPL titles to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be an easy addition, as the Lucknow-based franchise owner is ticking all the boxes before the all-important mega IPL auction.

The rights to the Lucknow-based IPL franchise have been won by RPSG Group, owned by Sanjeev Goenka, for Rs 7090 crore.
The Lucknow-based Indian Premier League (IPL) is taking a big step in the franchise market. A day after announcing Andy Flower’s role as head coach, the newly-acquired IPL franchise has strengthened its backroom staff by hiring former World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir as a consultant.

The Lucknow-based franchise, currently unknown, will be one of two new teams to join the IPL before next season. Sanjeev Goenka RPSG Group had earlier won a bid of Rs 7090 crore for a Lucknow-based franchise.
The $ 7 billion total came close to tasting IPL glory earlier, the now defunct Rising Pune Supergiants, who reached the IPL final in 2017 but lost to Mumbai Indians in the final.

The Lucknow-based franchise has selected KL Rahul, whom they want as their captain for the IPL 2022 season. Rahul had earlier done his business for Punjab Kings (PBKS) but was released before the mega auction, and is currently preparing in South Africa. Proteas vs upcoming Test series.
