Hurricane Easy Update: The storm that formed in the Bay of Bengal turned into a hurricane on Sunday. Its speed is more than 75 kilometers per hour. The meteorological department said the hurricane is likely to intensify in the next 24 hours. However, it is likely to weaken by next week without colliding with the coast. “Strong winds and rains are likely along the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha from Tuesday due to the cyclone easing effect,” the IMD said.

This was stated in a bulletin issued by the Meteorological Department on Sunday.

Deep pressure about 380 kilometers west of Port Blair has intensified and turned the hurricane into an easy one. Warning to fishermen

  • Fishermen are advised not to venture into the Middle East, southeastern Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Andaman Sea on Sunday.
  • Don’t go over the Central Bay of Bengal on May 9th and 10th and into the Northwest Bay of Bengal from May 10th to 12th.

Hurricane Ease Warning

May 10: Isolated heavy rains with light to moderate rains are expected in coastal Odisha and adjoining northern coastal Andhra Pradesh since evening.

May 11: Light to moderate rains with isolated heavy rains are expected in coastal Odisha, northern Andhra Pradesh and coastal West Bengal.

May 12: Light to moderate rains are expected at isolated places on the coasts of Odisha and West Bengal.

There is a possibility of heat wave in these places.

  • May 8 to 12 in Rajasthan
  • May 9 in Maharashtra
  • May 9 to 12 in Vidarbha and Western Madhya Pradesh
  • Haryana, Delhi and South Punjab during May 10-12.
