How to Make an Online Passport Application?

The specific steps for submitting a passport application online are as follows:

Step 1: Register for Passport Seva on the official website. You can use your current account to log in as well.

Step 2: Select “Apply for New Passport/Reissue of Passport” from the menu. Please take note that to apply for a passport online under the “Fresh Passport” category, you must not already have an Indian passport.

Step 3: Carefully and accurately complete the online passport application form, then click “Submit.”

Step 4: Return to the home page and click “View Saved/Submitted Applications.”

Step 5: From “View Saved/ Submitted Applications,” select “Pay and Schedule Appointment.”

Step 6: You can schedule a visit at the Passport Seva Kendra of your choice. Then decide whether to pay online or offline and move forward.

After completing this procedure, select “Print Application Receipt” to download a copy of the application receipt with your application reference number. Details about the appointment will be sent to you via SMS. This will prove that you visited the Passport Seva Kendra on the designated day and kept your appointment. As confirmation of your eligibility, make sure to bring all original paperwork with you when you visit.

Documents Needed to Apply for a Passport

To apply for a new passport without any problem, people must present the following paperwork:

Evidence of current address, which may include any of the following:

• Any utility statement.
• Rent agreement, electoral commission photo ID card, income tax assessment order
• For minors, a copy of the first and last pages of the parent’s passport.

Birth certificates provided by the Municipal Corporation, the Registrar of Births and Deaths, or another designated body are all acceptable forms of proof for the date of birth.

• Any supporting documentation for a Non-ECR (formerly ECNR) category.
