Gyanwapi Mosque case: Survey work of Gyanwapi Mosque near Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi has been stopped amid protests. This series will continue on Monday. Meanwhile, major revelations have come to light during the survey. According to a media report, during the survey and videography, two swastika marks were seen near the Gyanwapi Mosque in the Gyanwapi-Srinagar Gori complex. However, nothing has been officially announced yet as the report is to be submitted to the court first. According to unconfirmed reports, the videographers of the survey team told a channel that they found two dim but clear swastikas outside the mosque while conducting the survey. He said that the swastikas were probably made in ancient times.

Gyanwapi mosque case update: Muslim side is worried about the truth of Gyanwapi: VHP

Alok Kumar, central working president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), has expressed displeasure over the court-appointed team being prevented from visiting the Gyanwapi mosque. He asked what is the reality that is being prevented from coming to light? Why are Muslims so nervous about this issue? The VHP leader termed the obstruction in the survey as unconstitutional and said that a court had ordered a survey of the mosque, against which the Muslim side had gone to the High Court. Why is it being stopped when the High Court rejected his appeal and did not stay the survey? Those who obstructed the survey are violating the constitution.

He said that he had gone to Kashi Vishwanath in 1974. At that time, people used to visit Shringar Gauri and offer sandals because she is on the road. It is behind the mosque, so why lock it? The petition also does not say that the Gyanwapi Mosque should be converted into a temple, but does say that Srinagar had come to see Gauri a few years back and they should be given the right to see it again.

It was acceptable then, then why object today: Jatinder Nand Saraswati

On the other hand, Swami Jatindranand Saraswati, National General Secretary of Akhal Bharatiya Sant Samiti in Varanasi, has said that survey of the disputed complex is not being conducted for the first time. In 1937, the then Civil Judge of Banaras, SB Singh himself inspected the Gyanwapi Mosque Complex and its surroundings not once but twice. The first inspection was carried out before the hearing of the case and the second before the verdict was pronounced. In the same case, the British government produced two historians, Dr. Pramatma Saran and historian Dr. AS Altiker, as witnesses in court. The duo also studied in detail the ruins of the Gyanwapi Mosque Complex, the basement under the mosque and the ancient temple in the western wall.

Objecting to the testimony of both historians, the Muslim side told the court that if experts were needed, the court could appoint experts on its behalf instead of the government. If it was acceptable then, why object to the survey team appointed by the court today?
