During the program, Prime Minister Modi said that the country had achieved this target five months ago. Let me tell you that in the month of May, Union Minister for Petroleum Hardeep Singh Puri had said that the level of ethanol in petrol has reached 9.99% in India. Importantly, India had set a target of 10% ethanol blending in petrol by the end of 2022 and 20% blending by 2030. In addition, the central government has set a target of 5% blending of biodiesel with diesel by 2030. According to him, the oil companies have already achieved the target of 10% about 5 months ago. The blending of ethanol and petrol has also saved the country’s foreign exchange.

The program to blend ethanol in petrol aims to reduce the country’s dependence on crude oil imports, reduce carbon emissions and increase farmers’ incomes. The Center has also announced an additional charge of Rs 2 per liter on blended fuel from October to encourage blending. In May, Union Minister for Petroleum Hardeep Puri had said that the target of 9.99% ethanol blending in petrol has been achieved by the country’s oil marketing companies. will be done. .
