EPFO Alert: Aadhaar card must be linked to PF account for employees working in private sector. Private employees who have not yet linked their Aadhaar card to their PF account will no longer receive EPF money. During Corona’s tenure, the EPFO changed the ECR filing protocol by changing section 142 of the Social Security Code 2020. Since then, it has become mandatory for private employees to link the universal account number of PF account with Aadhaar card. Companies will be able to file ECR of the same employee whose UAN is linked to Aadhaar. Employees whose account is not linked to their Aadhaar card. Their ECR card will be inserted separately after being linked to the Aadhaar card. If the Aadhaar number in your KPF account has not been updated, update it soon.
How to Link Aadhaar Card
To link Aadhaar in PF account, go to epfindia.gov.in and select ‘UAN Member e-Seva’ option on the tab provided for employees. Now login with your UAN ID and password. Then go to the Manage tab and select the KYC option. You will now be taken to a new page, where you will be asked for many documents. After uploading all the documents, select the Aadhaar option and save it. Your Aadhaar number will now be verified via OTP. Now as soon as your company and government verify all the information, your Aadhaar card will be linked to your PF account.
What the new security code says.
Under the new security code, every employee has to link their Aadhaar card with PF account. So that the government and your company can identify who are the beneficiaries of EPFO. Subodh Sadana, partner of Anant Law, said the move was taken to facilitate implementation of the Social Security Code 2002. After the implementation of this rule, employees whose accounts are not linked to Aadhaar will no longer receive PF. This amount will be refunded only after the Aadhaar card is linked to the PF account.
