Akshay Kumar was up in the Chandni Chowk neighborhood of Old Delhi. He was born Rajeev Bhatia on September 9, 1967, to Amritsar’s parents Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia. He eventually relocated to Mumbai, where he finished his secondary education at Don Bosco School before enrolling at Guru Nanak Khalsa College for his undergraduate studies. He left school and went to Bangkok to study martial arts. He worked as a cook and waiter in Bangkok while studying the martial art of Muay Thai. When Akshay Kumar got back to Mumbai, he started instructing martial arts.

Before filmmaker Pramod Chakravarthy hired him for his film Deedar, he briefly loved modeling, helped photographer Jayesh Seth, and also worked as a background dancer and stunt actor.
But he made his big-screen debut in the 1991 Saugandh, starring Raakhee and Shantipriya. He made his acting debut in Dancer but received little recognition. He only became well-known and well-liked after being signed by Abbas-Mustan for their thriller Khiladi.
Following a string of box office duds, Akshay Kumar appeared in Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Mohra in 1994. He starred in Yash Chopra’s Yeh Dillagi the same year, which led him a Filmfare nomination for Best Actor. He became a well-known actor in 1994 after delivering 11 films, the most of which were hits.

Before being married to Twinkle Khanna, the eldest daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, in 2001, the actor was involved in several purported relationships and hookups. Akshay was reportedly seeing Pooja Batra, a popular model at the time, long before they got engaged. Before Akshay started his career, the two were dating.
He supposedly started dating his Khiladi co-star Ayesha Jhulka after he began his Bollywood career. However, his relationship with 90s bombshell Raveena Tandon was what made headlines.
But following their breakup, he began dating Shilpa Shetty. Both their on-screen chemistry and their off-screen romance were magical.
