Early life of Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar was up in the Chandni Chowk neighborhood of Old Delhi. He was born Rajeev Bhatia on September 9, 1967, to Amritsar’s parents Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia. He eventually relocated to Mumbai, where he finished his secondary education at Don Bosco School before enrolling at Guru Nanak Khalsa College for his undergraduate studies. He left school and went to Bangkok to study martial arts. He worked as a cook and waiter in Bangkok while studying the martial art of Muay Thai. When Akshay Kumar got back to Mumbai, he started instructing martial arts.

Career of Akshay Kumar

After completing his martial arts training, Kumar started teaching the art form when he got back to Mumbai. When his pupil encouraged him to give modeling a chance, paving his road into Bollywood, he subsequently tried his hand at it.

Before filmmaker Pramod Chakravarthy hired him for his film Deedar, he briefly loved modeling, helped photographer Jayesh Seth, and also worked as a background dancer and stunt actor.

But he made his big-screen debut in the 1991 Saugandh, starring Raakhee and Shantipriya. He made his acting debut in Dancer but received little recognition. He only became well-known and well-liked after being signed by Abbas-Mustan for their thriller Khiladi.
