31% of Gujaratis suffer from diabetes, 37% suffer from high blood pressure

Ahmedabad: According to a new report by the National Family Health Survey, 33 men and 30 per cent women in Gujarat suffer from diabetes. The problem is more in urban areas than in rural areas. Percentage of those who have high sugar or are taking medication to control sugar. Where 37% of women and 38% of men suffer from hypertension. The number of people taking medicines for high blood pressure is also high. A survey of people over the age of 15 revealed this.

50 percent of young women become mothers at an early age
According to significant data released by the survey, the sex ratio increased from 950 to 965 in 2819-20 compared to the 2015-16 survey. 97% of people have access to electricity and water. In the case of sanitation, only 74 percent. 22% of young women and 28% of young men marry before the age of marriage. 5% of young women become mothers or become pregnant between the ages of 15-19.

The report is based on a 5 month survey
The survey was conducted in Gujarat from 23 June 2019 to 30 November 2019 by the Center for Operations Research and Training and Training Research Foundation. For this 29,37 houses have been inspected. Data were collected from 33,343 females and 5,351 males during this period. All the relevant information has been collected separately for each district. So that healthcare can be further improved in the future.
